Wall To Wall Pretty

Pip Collection wallpaper is pretty much the best wallpaper in the world, don’t you think?! It’s available via. Which is your favourite?

Perhaps you grew up with wallpaper? We did.  I remember being particularly scarred by the Aubrey Beardsley nude lady wallpaper in our bathroom. I always DREADED my grade 4 friends needing to go to bathroom.  There were boobs everywhere in there! What would they think of me?! Gads!

Much later, when I cared a titch less about what people thought of me,  I lived in an amazing house with flocked wallpaper, velvet drapes and red carpet.  I was mildly perturbed that the mismatched opulence didn’t go with my own handmade style and was eventually quite thrilled to escape to a house with white walls and polished floors.  I missed the flocking a wee bit, but a flock free life is what I really needed.

How about you?!  Do you have any tales of wallpaper past?!  Do you love this wallpaper? Write soon!

xx Pip

As a child of the 70s I grew up in a house where there was a different wallpaper in every room. Chocolate brown & orange geometric in the kitchen, big flowers in lime green, yellow and white in the lounge room and Holly Hobby in my bedroom.
It is only in very recent times that I’ve even been able to consider wallpaper.

Can you manage a feature wall, Stacey? OMG. I had Holly Hobbie in my bedroom too! I forgot! Thanks for the reminder!!! And thanks for commenting!

I grew up in a house like stacey with a different pattern in every room. I think you always end up regretting wallpaper and its soooo hard to get off. As a child I longed for plain walls and I did eventually get my wish. After much scrapping peeling and sanding the lime green floral in my room and the fake wood in my sisters was replaced with cream paint. Later we found out the man who lived in our house before us liked to wear dresses. This maybe explains all wall paper.

Hmmm…. frocks eh?! Well there you go! I bet you are a super huge fan of the neutral wall and floors, to this day! Sad that boys can’t wear frocks, really…. Poor things!

My Mum recently moved out of the family home after 46 years. I made a photobook for her and my brothers and sisters and the most comments I got about photos from the past was to do with some striking geomteric/floral wallpaper we had in our kitchen! Seemed to be a big feature we had all forgotten!

Oh I would love to see a photo! That sounds amazing! It was the done thing to wallpaper, back then… now, notsomuch.. unless it is THIS kind of lovely wallpaper!

Oh yes I remember the 70′s wallpaper … lavish pink and gold chandelier style in our bedroom when I was a little girl. We thought it was beautiful at the time although it definitely did NOT go with the yellow geometric lino with massive daisies. We used to lie in bed and pick the wallpaper off much to our mum’s annoyance!
