Oprah’s favourite Aussie things

I really miss Oprah.

1pm is just not the same. I turn on the TV at 12.58pm, remember it all ended. She’s not there. My shoulders slump and I shuffle back to my desk.

So, last week when her Favourite Things: 2011 gift guide was released with nary a squealing audience being handed the keys to a new car in sight, I may have shed a tear or three.

It’s not that I ever imagined myself being on the receiving end of SO MUCH giving. It’s just that I really did get a kick out of seeing others being spoilt rotten.

As I browsed through this year’s gift guide online, I thought to myself, I can actually imagine myself buying this stuff … or sending a strong hint in the right direction.

As I continued to scroll, I may have squealed … Australia must have left an impact on Oprah. There are four items on the 80-strong list that have an Australian link. Oprah, this almost makes up for overlooking my invite to one of your Australian shows last December. Almost.
