Interest Rates: If you have a mortgage you may already be wringing your hands, as the major four banks so far refuse to pass on yesterday’s Reserve Bank interest rate drop. News.com.au reports that every day the banks don’t cut the rate reaps them $6 million in profits. The cut will wipe $50 a month from the average Australian mortgage. Here’s hoping that it’s is passed on today.
The Ipsos Mackay Report: This report into consumer sentiment and how Australians are feeling about life has found that many Australians have had enough of Facebook. Those surveyed were also worried about the middle class being ‘squeezed out’ and are generally more unhappy now than they were six months ago.
