Facebook:  Facebook has officially been deemed an advertising medium, which is important news for brands.  The Advertising Standards Bureau ruled on Monday that brand pages on Facebook would be subject to the same Codes and standards that other ads and forms of marketing have to adhere to.  This means that pages which promote antisocial behaviour or fail to moderate offensive or harmful/defamatory comments on their pages will be held responsible for those comments and at risk of prosecution/legal action.  More here.

Puberty Blues: Network Ten is rewarding Puberty Blues Facebook fans by making the first episode of the new show available online until midnight today.  Eep.  I am going to make time to watch.  Are you going to watch? More here.

P*ssy Riot:  Three member of the Russian punk band P*ssy Riot are currently on trial for ‘hooliganism motivated by religious hatred’ because they stormed a church, dressed in colourful clothes and equally colourful balaclavas to sing an expletive laden song at the alter.  The song was a plea for the Virgin Mary to rid Russia of Vladimir Putin.  The band say the stunt was the act of a ‘jester’  but authorities do not agree.  Ugh.  It’s thought that the verdict will be handed down this week, with prosecutors calling for three year jail terms for the girls.  Read on.

Robert Hughes:  So sad that Robert Hughes has died.  Read The Australian’s tribute here.
