Chrissie Swan: We love Chrissie Swan here at JustB. She’s super smart, super funny and super gorgeous. We’ve been pretty saddened by the turn of events over the last day or two, with publicity hungry starlets and some members of the general public seeing fit to judge not only Chrissie and her parenting, but her cute kidlets too. It’s complete madness. You can read more at news.com.au, but suffice to say that how we appear should not define who we are and how we are perceived by others. And the idea that only thin people are healthy and truly happy is not so. And I’m really mad about this. Grrr.
Mortgages: Thousands of home owners who are struggling to pay mortgages they can’t afford may walk away from their debts after a series of court cases expose improper ‘low doc’ lending. It’s been revealed that some finance companies inflated their client’s income figures and exaggerated their ability to repay, to secure mortgages. Macquarie Bank, GE Money and Suncorp were named as offenders in these low doc loans, which carry a default rate 4 times higher than the average mortgage. Read on at The Australian.
The Block: Helen Razer tells me no one watches The Block, but I do and so do 2.556 million other Australians, according to Crikey. The Block came in number one nationally across Australia. Go them. I’m totally into The Block because my friend Shaynna is one of the judges and also because Dale and Sophie featured my book in their very first challenge (back in the elimination rounds!)
