Man flu is an actual thing. It’s reported that men experience higher temperatures and suffer worse symptoms than women when ‘with-flu’ because they have a larger preoptic nucleus (a part of the brain) than women do. The preoptic neucleus increases our body temperature when we are ill to kill any bugs in our system, so the larger that brain bit, the higher the temperature and the worse the symptoms. We will never hear the end of this.

A teenage boy who has been missing in bushland for 9 weeks has been found. He’d apparently intended to head into the bush for a period of time, but it had taken its toll on his health and he needed to be winched to safety. More here.
