Eating Disorders: A report commissioned by The Butterfly Foundation has found that almost ONE MILLION Australians are battling eating disorders.  That’s around 4% of the populations.  The report found the estimated cost to the health system is $100 million.  The productivity impact on the economy was close to that of anxiety and depression – about $15.1 billion.  One third of those who have eating disorders are men.  The report also found that there are not enough treatment options for these conditions.  Read more here.

2Day FM: Radio station 2Day FM say their producers attempted to call the hospital where Kate Middleton was being treated to discuss airing the ‘prank’ call around FIVE times. The hospital said nobody called after the prank had occurred: ”Following the hoax call, the station did not talk to anyone in hospital senior management or anyone at the company that handles our media inquiries.”  Perhaps their calls were not transferred any further than the main switchboard?  Meanwhile the radio presenters at the centre of the tragedy which apparently claimed the life of the nurse on the receiving end of the call) were interviewed on Today Tonight and lamented that the broadcast of the call was out of their hands.  Read on here.
