Tuesday : Newsy Snacks For Busy People

Shane Warne: If you have a spare $10 million, you can snap up the Warnie love-nest. OMG. It’s up for sale as Liz and Warney plan their 2013 nuptials and his move to the UK.  They’ve bought a $9 million property called Donnington Hall  (a 13-bedroom, five-bathroom historic Georgian manor just outside the village of Ledbury in Herefordshire) where I am assuming they will eat cucumber sandwiches and play croquet whilst sipping Pimm’s. Foxconn: The infamous Chinese plant where many technology companies assemble their gadgets (most famously Apple) has denied reports that workers are striking, stating instead that there have been a couple of minor disputes between production line workers and quality control personnel.  Foxconn is not going into details, but sources say the dispute may have arisen over more stringent quality controls for the new iPhone 5. Fresh workers have been brought in to ensure production continues. Hm. Read on here.

iPhone 5: Speaking of which, the cracks are appearing in the love affair between the iPhone 5 and the phone buying public.  Complaints that it scuffs easily, has screen glitches, that the camera emits a purple haze on some shots and that the new Maps feature is sucky are the beginning of the nit-picking re Apple’s new baby.  I don’t have one so I don’t know. I wonder if it’s just a case of learning the quirks of a new device, or whether the snipes are warranted…? More here.
