Robbie Farah: NRL star Robbie Farah has been the victim of a Twitter troll, with his mother being targeted in Sunday night’s cruel jibe. It’s so horrible and yet so interesting that there’s already been commentary about Farah ‘doing nothing to invite this’ kind of treatment.  I wonder if we think that those that who engage with trolls and are particularly vocal on Twitter indeed DO deserve to be trolled?  I don’t think that. I hope they crack RIGHT down on Charlotte Dawson AND Robbie Farah’s tormentors.  No one deserves to be abused online.  More here.

Ron Taylor: Vintage shark expert Ron Taylor has sadly died aged 78 as a result of myeloid leukaemia.  Ron and his wife Valerie Taylor pioneered marine conservation and cinematography, producing some of the very first underwater footage of great white sharks.  They worked with Steven Spielberg on the film ‘Jaws’ too, something which it seems Ron regretted.  You can read on here and see a clip from the 1973 film they shot about sharks, too.

Renoir: A woman who bought a job lot of junk at a flea market (including a doll, a plastic cow and an old painting) was quite chuffed to discover that the painting is almost certainly a lost work by Renoir and the $50 that she paid for the lot could now appreciate to the value of around $100 000! Oh WOW! I love these kinds of stories.  It gives us all hope that we may turn up something amazing in the thrifty game, if we just keep looking!
