Tuesday: Newsy Snacks For Busy People
Niger Food Crisis: Ginny Stein reports from famine affected Niger in this piece, interviewing Tim Costello of World Vision and discussing the BIG difference that swift, early intervention from the International community has made. It’s been the difference between life and death, funding food and health clinics in affected areas and staving off malnutrition in many children. It’s really important to understand that this is proof that we can and must continue to make a difference and donate to organisations such as World Vision. Imagine what we an achieve. More at the ABC.
Nicole Kidman: In the wake of the TomKat split, Nicole is maintaining a dignified silence, apparently going to ground rather than be accosted by the media. Of course, her own relationship with Tom Cruise, who she was married to for ten years, is also under scrutiny, as are their children Connor and Isabella. Ugh. Poor Nicole and family. I bet she thought she was off the Tom-Cruise-Drama hook, but no! Darnit. Read on here.
2pm Malware: Well. It was not QUITE as hyped as the 2K bug, but Australians managed to choke up the Australian Government DNS-OK site yesterday morning, rushing to see if their computers were casualties of this ticking time-bomb of a virus. The FBI says that around 40 000 computers in the US were affected, but it seems that Australia is relatively unscathed. Are you unscathed? I guess you probably aren’t reading this if your computer got the bug?! More here.
