Thursday: Newsy Snacks For Busy People
Indigenous Schools: The NSW government has decide to take the radical (I think fantastic) step of transforming some of their schools into community hubs in an effort to increase attendance and academic results. The schools will serve as centres for parenting support, health, education and anti-gambling assistance. In international comparisons, indigenous NSW students ranked slightly higher than Mexico when comparing high school results. Read on here.
Royal Jubilee: Janet Williams didn’t wait for the Queen’s Jubilee to celebrate the royals. She’s been celebrating for YEARS, kitting out her entire home in Royal memorabilia. Janet and her husband Philip have over 12 000 Royal items on display in their home and it’s a sight to behold. See the photos here.
Pop-up Cafes: In New York, loading zones and car spaces are being transformed into cafes, beautifying streets, creating community and establishing micro businesses where they would not have existed. Local businesses help by sponsoring the pop-up, and in return they are rewarded with increased foot traffic and trade. Win! More at Good.
