Thursday: Newsy Snacks For Busy People
Melissa George: Following the dramas surrounding her appearance on The Morning Show and her hang-up Mx radio interview, there’s lots of news about Melissa George. For instance she says: ”I’m a multi-million-pound inventor,” she said. ”A few years ago, I came up with something that enables women to alter hemlines. That product has turned over $15 million in the past 10 months.” At the weekend George told Fairfax she was “not going to be a good Aussie any more”. I don’t need credibility from my country any more,” she said. Also, this t-shirt has been designed to… um… celebrate her Home and Away days. Melissa says she will likely not return to Australia because “the stress is not worthy of my health.”
Matt Newton: Mr Newton has escaped being convicted over his attack on a US hotel worker last year, walking away from the Miami court with a $11 500 fine and 50 hours community service. He was also ordered to attend an anger management workshop and write the clerk he attacked a letter of apology. Here’s hoping Matt’s recovery continues. He’s looking like he’s feeling a lot better. More here.
Jon Bon Jovi: Bon Jovi’s daughter is apparently recovering in hospital after a near fatal heroin overdose. So awful, right? Glad that she’s okay. More here.
Victoria’s Secret: The fashion label are the latest in a long line of companies being criticised for appropriating Native American cultural symbols and costumes. A floor length head-dress was worn with leopard print underwear and high heels at a Victoria’s Secret show last week in New York. ”We sincerely apologise as we absolutely had no intention to offend anyone,” Victoria’s Secret said in a statement. Model Karlie Kloss said she was: ”deeply sorry if what I wore during the VS Show offended anyone.” More here.
