Thursday: Newsy Snacks For Busy People
Twitter: It’s bad news for trolls as Twitter agrees to deal directly with Australian police (rather than forcing police to navigate the US legal system) when investigating threats and abusive behaviour on the social media platform. Win! This not only expediates action taken against Twitter trolls but it should quickly deter those who think trolling is a rollicking good time. Communications Minister Stephen Conroy met with Twitter and achieved this important result. Hopefully it’s the first step toward stamping out the trolls. More here.
iPad Mini: Photos have surfaced via the internet of the rumoured 7″ tablet (dubbed the iPad mini) that Apple are apparently building. Isn’t it interesting that size is the first variation in these new incarnations of existing technology? I think this will please those who have the bigger New iPad and use it to take photos. It’s so unwieldly, right?! The mini sounds like a much better idea for happy snapping. Of course, these Apple rumours abound, but News.com.au thinks that this is almost certainly what the iPad mini will look like, and that it won’t be released any time soon because Apple don’t want anything to steal the iPhone 5′s thunder. Lindsay Lohan: Jeepers. Lindsay is always in trouble, right? She’s just off the richter scale when it comes to bad behaviour. I wonder why she’s like that? I wonder why she can’t keep things together? Anyway, the latest in a long line of Lindsaynesses is an arrest for a ‘hit and run’. It’s alleged that Lindsay hit a pedestrian while driving her Porsche and then left the scene. And it wasn’t even a paparazzo. I am sure we’ll hear a lot more about this, but I really wish that someone would take Linds under their wing and gently lead her far from the spotlight. More here.
Wills & Kate: Poor things. A Danish magazine is the latest to buy the photos of the pair, very relaxed and holidaying at a private villa in France earlier this month. The editor of the mag says : ”Se og Hoer has exclusively (in Denmark) obtained the pictures of the topless Duchess of Cambridge, Kate,” ”We will publish a 16-page spread full of piquant photos of England’s future queen.” Gosh. It’s going to be difficult for the royal family to fight each and every publication threat as they await the hearing for the criminal proceedings they have initiated against the photographer in question.
