Thursday: Newsy Snacks For Busy People

iPhone 5:
The new iPhone has finally been released in the States. It’s taller and bigger and thinner and faster. OMG. It’ll be available in Australia from next Friday, in case you are the type to queue up etc.  Read more here.

HRH Kate:  Did you see Kate in Singapore? Have a look here at the photos. My Mum reckons she dresses ‘too old’. Hm. I think she looks smashing. We are agreeing to disagree on this one! Imagine being Kate, though. Goodness me.  I can’t imagine the pressure. Ugh.

Robbie Farah: The plot thickens as an old tweet from Robbie Farah suggesting Prime Minister Gillard get ‘a noose’  is revealed.  Earlier in the week we told you about Robbie’s experience with a Twitter troll on Sunday night and we wondered whether some trolling was seen as more warranted than others.  And now this. Hm.  What do you make of it?

Mermaids: We are always looking out for the best news stories.  Today we bring you the California Mermaid. She’s a hairdresser by day, but she moonlights as a Mermaid, raising awareness about environmental issues and taking her golden, long locked, shell bra-ed ways to the marine enthusiast masses across the US.  46 year old Vera Burgerman has organised a Mermaid Fest and has even taken a couple of younger mermaids under her fin, calling herself the Mer-Ma.  Read on here.

I have a suggestion for people tempted to say nasty shizzle on Twitter (or anywhere else on the internet) – if you wouldn’t say it to a person’s face, don’t tweet it.

I agree with you – Kate is smashing and classy and lovely. I don’t recall seeing a photo of her and thinking otherwise.
