Asylum Seekers: The legislation which implements off-shore processing (in Nauru or Manus Island) for asylum seekers has been passed through the Lower House of Federal Government. Both Julia Gillard and Tony Abbot were interviewed today and sent a very clear message to people smugglers. I am not sure people smugglers watch Australian television. You can read more about the legislation here.
The Shire: One of the young ladies from Network Ten’s reality show The Shire has been attacked at a Sydney cafe, with by-standers saying a butter knife and a glass (plus a whole lot of hair pulling) was involved. How awful.
Steve Jobs: Making news, even now, Steve Jobs’ home in Northern California has been burgled with over $60 000 worth of computers and personal items being stolen in what was apparently a random break-in. The offender has been arrested and is currently in custody. Apparently he had no idea that he’d robbed the late Mr Jobs. More here.
Ron Palillo: Otherwise known as Welcome Back Kotter’s Arnold Horshack, Ron Palillo has died aged 63, reportedly of a heart attack. Read on here.
