Thursday: Newsy Snacks For Busy People
Kate Middleton: Oh my. Have you heard about this? When Kate Middleton said no to a cover shoot for Marie Claire South Africa, the magazine apparently took matters into their own hands, creating their own Kate shoot and photoshopping Kate into outfits by local designers, in a variety of situations. Thalidomide: A landmark case against the makers of the drug Thalidomide has just been finalised, with Melbourne woman Lynette Rowe winning the case she brought against German drug company Grunenthal as well as the Distillers company and UK firm Diageo who were responsible for marketing the drug in Australia. It’s so insane that Thalidomide was ever administered to pregnant women, isn’t it? You can read more about this important case here.
Marissa Mayer: Newly appointed YAHOO CEO (ex-Google CEO) Marissa Mayer is six months pregnant and has made headlines all over the world, sparking discussion about working mothers, pregnancy and recovery times, to name just a few. Ms Mayer’s due in October and the fact that she’s been given the top job is being lauded as proof that women really can have it all. Hm. I think if she’s happy that’s rad.
