Style : Eleven Super Cute Bangles

Are you the jangly type? I am. I think there’s something special about a clunky bracelet or a little orchestra of pretty bangles tinkling on an arm.  I quite like a stack or a set, but even one super special one will do.

I think my bangle love dates back to the eighties. I ACTUALLY thought it was important that Madonna had a look-alike in suburban Canberra.  It didn’t matter to me that I looked NOTHING like Madonna. I knew that if I mimicked her style, someone with a squint would mistake me for her and be a bit thrilled to be in my company.  The tortured blonde hair, the mesh tank top, the tube skirts and leggings, they were de rigeur and I cut a fashionable figure as I made my way to the bus shelter on those chilly Canberra mornings.

There was a HUGE bow in my hair, Ray Ban wayfarers (fake), lace-up white boxing boots, lace fingerless gloves, pearls (fake), crucifixes (can they be fake?) and there were BANGLES.  A LOT of bangles.

The bangles stretched from wrist to elbow, weighing my arm down so heavily I could barely pay for my bus ticket.  The bangles jingled so readily that I was permanently banned from the library.  (Warning: bangles can cause learning difficulties.)

Luckily, I grew up (kind of).  I have left my Madonna days far behind and have learned the art of editing my look.  I know that a stack of a few or just a solo bangle will do the job nicely. I’m going for quality, not quantity. I’m so proud of the reformed me.

Here’s my pick of the loveliest bangles on the net. I am sure there are EVEN more, too. If you know of any, leave the link in the comments box below so we can all take a jangly peek!

You’re a Canberra girl!? Even more love for you now I know that! I love bangles too… three or four jangly ones is best. Plus they remind me to lift my wrists when I am typing so I don’t get RSI!
