Yoga Raves: A new movement is (gently) sweeping through New York. Clean living revellers are frequenting night clubs which offer no alcohol, group chanting, raw food and an all round wholesome environment for whooping it up. No WAY! Tired of the trashy boozy, drug riddled clubs of old, clever clubbers are tripping on downward dogging, quinoa and wheat-grass instead. More at The New York Times. Namaste NY.
Jess Mauboy: Jessica Mauboy and her The Sapphires co-stars are at Cannes, where a screening of their film received a long standing ovation from the audience (many of whom were film critics.) Amazing-great. See the fabulous red carpet photo at The Australian.
Childcare: The Federal Government has announced a plan to tackle the escalating cost of childcare, however they’re releasing few details apart from the fact that they may look at capping the cost of fees. Early Childhood Australia’s Pam Cahir says “Any new approach to assistance for parents must remain income related so that lower and middle-income families continue to be well supported.” Head of the childcare worker’s union, Sue Lines stressed that wages for workers must remain fair.
