Seal and Heidi:
The gloves are apparently off in the Seal/Heidi Klum divorce. I don’t think that’s very nice for their kids. Even if what Seal is saying IS true. Not cool at all, Mr Seal.  The story is here.

Hal David: Mr David (who famously collaborated with Burt Bacharach on many favourite tunes) has died aged 91 as a result of a stroke. Bacharach and David wrote Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head, Walk On By and I Say A Little Prayer (amongst others!)  Read The New York Times obituary of a life well lived here.

Arts Education: A Maryland school is doing all kinds of rad things to prove that arts education makes for  more altruistic, civically engaged, and socially tolerant kids. Win!  Integrating arts curriculum into all subjects (including maths) has resulted in a drop in student suspensions and an increase in academic results. Double win!  Read on at Good.

Charlotte Dawson: Did you watch 60 Minutes last night? It was pretty heartbreaking, I thought. I feel for Charlotte Dawson and yet I know that she can’t make the trolls feel a thing. It’s so horrible.  What did you think?

Ha! Seal says he wished Heidi had shown a little more class! Airing their dirty laundry ain’t exactly the classy thing to do. Boo, Seal. It’s also not the way to protect your kids. That Heidi may have slept with someone else is only a fraction of the story from one side. I hope Heidi doesn’t cop too much blame for it. Relationships, including the breakdown of a relationship, are complex. Outsiders can never truely understand their workings.

I feel for Charlotte a lot. And the chap whose son took his life after online bullying. Awful stuff. Very brave, I think, for Charlotte to jump back into the spotlight and face the scrutiny so soon. No doubt there will be criticism leveled at her for the 60 Minute story as well as further attacks from trolls. I hope she arms herself with the right tools to deal with it and to stay healthy.
