Tsunami Warning : Panic hits Indonesia and Thailand overnight as an earthquake causes three small tsunamis and ignites fears of a repeat of the 2004 earthquake and tsunami which killed 230 000 people. US seismologists have now cancelled their tsunami warnings altogether, saying that yesterday’s quake had only triggered small waves, nothing like the previous disaster. Yesterday, terrified residents abandoned their businesses and homes and ran for higher ground, although many tourist are reported to have been oblivious to the possible impending disaster.  Read on at News.com.au.

Logies : When IS the Logies ON?! All this pre-publicity and yet not much mention of the date, just the nominees, frocks, hosts, odds and more. If you haven’t been paying attention properly (like me) he Logies are on THIS Sunday night. In case you want to watch. I am not a huge fan of awards shows, but maybe you are?  You can see the full list of nominees here.   I might watch with half an eye and eat Savoury Shapes and do a bit of craft.  I might do that.  I hope Asher and Shaynna win something. I do.  Who do you want to win a prize?

Britney Spears : After her very public 2008 breakdown (which was horrible, regrettable, all the papps fault), Britney Spears’ father was made responsible for her affairs via a temporary conservatorship.  This conservatorship was extended indefinitely by a US judge, taking into consideration Britney’s ability to manage her own affairs.  Now Britney’s fiancé, Jason Trawick has applied to become Britney’s joint guardian so that he can have a say in her future, in cahoots with her dad, when (and if) they marry.  It’s also up to the judge as to whether Ms Spears will even be allowed to marry.  Ugh.
