Scientology: Kirstie Alley has staunchly defended Scientology and her famous Scientologist friend Tom Cruise, in the wake of the Vanity Fair expose on the life of Cruise. She’s labelled the article boring and says it’s a rehash of old lies. Have you read it? I haven’t, but News.com.au says it details the wife auditions and the stories of the church campaigning against Nicole Kidman, amongst other things. Read more there.
Protein Shakes: OMG. A Melbourne man has blackmailed 47 unsuspecting victims online, pretending to be a strip-tease performing woman and filming the men as they watched a video of the aforementioned strip tease. Really. Gosh. He then threatened to upload the footage to the internet if payments were not forthcoming. The blackmail funds were used to buy protein shakes, because the offender was an enthusiastic body builder and did not have a job. More here. Jeepers.
Paper Bicycle: Gosh. A bike made from paper? A bike made from paper that can support 220kg? Yep. Amaze. Designer Izhar Gafni is the genius behind this bike prototype which cost less than $10 to make. Nice. It’s based on the principles of origami and it’s lighter (but just as durable) as a regular bike. Some people are clever, right? More here.
