Art Theft: A Sydney lawyer apparently had amnesia when he stole two paintings from a gallery restaurant between courses in December 2008.  A court heard that Michael Sullivan had a disorder which made him think he was an art thief and that he did not remember taking the works. No conviction was recorded against him.  More here.

Everybody Dance Now: Network Ten’s brand new dance show has already been cut back to a single one hour show each week, following disasterous ratings and its failure to find a significant audience.  I watched the first episode and found it to be so slick it just slid right by me. I felt like I didn’t even need to be there, they had it all in hand.  I guess lots of other people felt similarly.  Read on here.

IKEA: IKEA are set to open 100 budget hotels across Europe, although they won’t feature the flat-pack champion’s furniture, or even the IKEA name.  Senior executive of IKEA’s property division Harald Muller: ”There is no IKEA furniture in it.. It is not an IKEA hotel. It’s a continuation of our normal investment activities in real estate.”  I think people might LIKE an IKEA furnished hotel, right?  I mean we’ve all thought about living in those room set-ups, and this way we COULD!  More here.

    Hmmm
Channel Ten is making so many strange programming decisions of late. I would love to find out who is behind these rush-to-the-bottom-of-the-swamp decisions?

I’m sure Sarah Murdoch is a top chick, and an ace Mum, but TV presenter, she just ain’t.

The shows that people love are the ones they can connect with, where they feel they see a little of themselves or their hopes and dreams represented. shows that help us realise we are not alone. Shows that help us through a tough, lonely patch or make us laugh and distract us from our daily lives, in a positive way. Not in a laugh at the people who are dumber, uglier, poorer, sillier, worse of than you kinda way.

The Circle was one of the good shows and from what I can tell rated a whole lot better than ANYTHING else Ten is now trying so desperately to get us to watch. Big mistake Ten, big, HUGE.

    As for Ikea…
I would love, LOVE to stay in an all Ikea fit-out hotel.
How great that would be and how very strange they can’t see what a winner of a business model it would be!

I love Sarah Murdoch too. I think she’d be great on something a bit chattier… She’s such a down to earth, adorable lady! x
