Friday: Newsy Snacks For Busy People
Go Back To Where You Came From: Did you watch Season One of this great show? The Herald Sun is reporting that Season Two has been commissioned and it will feature high profile Australians such as Angry Anderson and Peter Reith, surrendering their passports and walking in the shoes of refugee travellers. I found the first series compelling and I’m really keen to watch this season too. How about you?! More here.
Crowdfund A Farm: New York’s Staten Island is home to the three year old El Poblano Farm which specializes in Mexican ingredients (herbs and traditional vegetables), supplying inner city restaurants and farmer’s markets with coveted hard to find produce and flavours. Cash flow issues (expensive rare seeds, for instance) have meant that El Poblano have only planted half their land so far, so they are turning to Kickstarter to crowd fund the planting of the remainder of their farm. You can chip in here and contribute to New York’s Mexican food boom! More here. Check in on our Kickstarter page, too, to see the projects we think are worth backing!
Best Ever Teen Novels: The very ace NPR are polling our very favourite teen novels here. On the list are great titles like The Book Thief, The Catcher In The Rye, The Outsiders and The Hunger Games. An expert panel whittled down the final list to 238 and you can vote here. Awesome-great. So nice to take a trip back, (and I notice that the ultra-bleak high school favourite Go Ask Alice made the finals.)
