Friday: Newsy Snacks For Busy People
Rolling Stones: The Stones have just turned 50 and have been photographed together for the first time in four years. Publisher Thames and Hudson are set to release ‘Rolling Stones 50′ to celebrate the anniversary and a Stones documentary is due for release later this year, too. Read on here.
Gardasil: The National Immunisation Program will extend the immunisation against the human papilloma virus to boys from next year, touting it as the next logical step in fighting cervical and other cancers. Year 9 boys will receive three doses of Gardasil as part of a catch-up program, recognising that the virus causes cancers in men as well as women, and not only girls should be vaccinated. Fukushima: An independent report investigating the radiation levels of children living near to the Fukushima nuclear plant has found that some children have received ‘lifetime’ doses of radiation to their thyroid glands. The Japanese Government has been concentrating on the good news that half of the 1000 children tested did not have high radiation exposure and doesn’t plan to tell the parents of the affected children, fearing panic will ensue.
