Greg Ham : Sadly, Greg Ham has died.  Greg’s body was found yesterday at his Melbourne home in Canning Street, Carlton.  Homicide police are investigating ‘unexplained circumstances’ at the scene. Greg was a father of two and played the famous flute riff on Men At Work’s ‘Down Under’.  More at News.com.au

Tavi : Is amazing. You really need to watch this TedXTeen talk.  Or visit Tavi’s blog here. She has some AMAZING things to say about women… people. AND she’s only fifteen. Oh My GOSH!  I love the things she says. We’re in good hands.  You need to listen/watch.

Bald Barbie: Mattel have launched a bald Barbie to distribute to kids who are receiving cancer treatment or suffering hair loss due to other medical conditions. The Barbie (which will be free, of course!) is the result of lobbying by a Facebook group called ‘Beautiful and Bald Barbie’ who are super keen to support kids who are coming to terms with their hair loss.  How rad.  More at the very good Good.

Target Body Scanner : Do you need your body digitally scanned by a sort of space age POD? Get yourself to Target. In 12 seconds it will scan the bejeezus out of you and pinpoint your exact measurements and size as onlookers look on. Amazing?!  Possibly some of us do not want to know our exact size and are quite happy to admire corners of ourselves, but if you are the kind who wants a thorough once over, off you go!  More at The Australian.

Gosh Tavi is amazing!! shes obviously very intelliegent yet also very creative. I want for society to stop thinking of people as one dimensional and putting presure on people to be one thing, you’re either a pretty fashion girl, or a science nerd, or a feminist…stop sterio typing!! I always have this trouble with being creative and loving maths and science. like I actually LOVE doing equations and making models and analysing and writing code.  Yet people think I must be lying because they cant understand how someone who is creative can also love what is perceieved as nerdy. Have we forgotten about the renaissance era??   anyways…thats enough of my grip. Tavi’s talk just really touched home with something I am really struggling with right now

I agree with you Liss. AND I love Tavi too. She’s able to articulate a lot of stuff we don’t even realise we are thinking… until SHE says it. Amazing.
