Food: Ten Savoury Pies For The Weekend
This chilly weather is absolutely the cue to break out the comfort food. Whether it’s your favourites from childhood, something slow cooked or good old pies. I’m voting for pies!
We used to have pie and mash and peas on a Friday night. Of course said meal HAD to be slathered in tomato sauce, purely for the purpose of drowning out the taste of the peas. They certainly weren’t my favourites!
I’m thinking that I’m going to work on my pie making skills this weekend. Perhaps I’ll go for something a little more flavoursome than the standard beef pie I was raised on. I think that the potato and leek pie looks delicious and the artichoke and wild mushroom pie is quite the work of art.
Pretty keen on the fact that there won’t even be a splash of tomato sauce on the plate either.
