Food: Homemade Dumplings TEN Ways

In the days before children I was a keen cook. I loved spending time flicking through cookbooks, shopping for ingredients and then spending hours in the kitchen preparing meals. Everything I made was keenly appreciated, or at the very least politely eaten. I was thanked for my efforts. It was rewarding.

Now I am a fast and furious cook. I’m keen to get it and out of the kitchen in the shortest time possible. Often my meals are greeted with curled lips and well placed “Eeeews”. Consequently, the repertoire is pretty same-same and safe.

I confess I’ve never made dumplings of any kind (though I confess to consuming my fair share of pork buns). BUT after putting together this post I’m busting to have a go at making some pot stickers. I’m fairly confident that the kids will enjoy them…though we’ll keep our fingers firmly crossed on that one.

    I am only new to dumplings & I am in love. I made my own a few weeks back trying to re-create some I had at the casino before watching Florence & the Machine- both were very memorable.
    I bought the wrappers & blitzed up some veg I had in the fridge, added a few flavours & I LOVED them. Kids not so much but hubby liked them so it was a part victory. I am most defiantly going to give some of these a go :)

      Reannon I consider it a victory when I make something new and my boyfriend doesn’t like it- it just means there’s more for me! That sounds terribly selfish… but I’m not entirely evil, I end up making him something he loves to make up for the trauma ;)

    I’ve been thinking about attempting dumplings for a while now, and the mushroom recipe has just sealed the deal for me. I shall attempt them this weekend! Yay!

    Great collection!
    As an aside, I tried to find a feedback or general comments button but there doesnt seem to be one…are you able to format these collections so that the pics are all as a slideshow inbedded into a single webpage rather than having them all on seperate pages? It is quite slow and tedious when the pages have to reload each time you click onto the next dumpling, for example.
