It’s probably no longer a secret that the team here at Justb. has a major girl crush on Zooey Deschanel.

We love her quirky style, her quick wit, her amazing voice and her “real” girl kind of attitude to celebrity life. If you don’t know what I mean by that, follow her on Instagram (@zooeydeschanel). She’s only submitted 58 photos but she gives her fans a fun glimpse into her world.

Best of all we’re not disappointed and like what we see there.

So, when I found out her makeup look for the 2012 Golden Globes was created using products that cost under $150 – yep, that’s right – a TOTAL of that amount – I may have fallen a little bit more in love with her again.

Celebrity makeup artist Jorjee Douglass used Rimmel London products to create Zooey’s luminous, effortlessly chic look. “I was inspired by Emma Peel from the 1960’s British TV show The Avengers,” said Jorjee.

Re-create Zooey's 2012 Golden Globes makeup look for under $150

Here’s what Jorjee used:

I wanted Zooey’s beautiful skin to glow so I started with Rimmel London’s Fix & Perfect  Primer ($13.95) which is a must-do step to hydrate and mattify the skin.  Next, Jorjee used Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation ($22.95) in Ivory for smooth coverage that will last. She then used Rimmel London Match Perfection Concealer ($13.95) in Light and Fair under the eyes and to cover any imperfections.

I kept the mod inspiration on the eyes, creating a cat eye shape. I used Rimmel London’s Glam’Eyes Professional Liquid Liner ($11.95) on the top of the lid and a feathered line on the bottom. I topped the liner with Rimmel London Glam’Eyes HD Quad Eyeshadow ($15.95 each) in Black Cab and English Rose for a soft smokey eye. Then I loaded up her lashes with Rimmel London Sandaleyes Mascara ($16.95) to make her long lashes even longer. I played up Zooey’s amazing eyes so I wanted to keep the rest of her look neutral, highlighting her cheeks and adding a touch of color to her lips.

She used Rimmel London 3 in 1 Powder Blush in Autumn Catwalk  ($13.95) on Zooey’s cheeks and Rimmel London Lasting Finish  Lipstick ($9.95) in 006 Pink Blush on her lips.

The key to this look working is in the flawless complexion. Without getting that first, the eyes are never going to “pop”. Getting that is all about prepping the skin first with a regular skincare routine and a healthy diet, then priming the skin before applying a skin-perfecting foundation and concealer. Once you’ve nailed this, the rest is all just playing.

Do you like this look on Zooey? Do you think it’s not a stretch to re-create yourself?

PS. I’m over at Styling You today blogging about my “everyday” outfit.
