Now I know armchair neat freak is Pip’s gig but I couldn’t help but jump on board for this one. And she kindly let me have a sit down in the neat freak armchair. I can happily report it’s rather comfy too. Sitting here, “pinning” away while sipping on a cup of French Earl Grey tea.

Today’s topic is one close to my heart, or should I say, feet. I do love me a pair of shoes.

I am actually not game to count how many I own. They are all squirrelled away in clear plastic boxes in a number of locations. The numerous locations brought about by *necessity* and our small, small bedroom.

Which is why, when I (and my bedroom) grow up, my shoes should get excited. I have LOTS of ideas for you. Yes, I do shoes. Yes, I do.

I really think you deserve some extra special attention. Each pair of you needs to be on show, preferably backlit in all your gloriousness. After all, you are works of art, aren’t you?

Perhaps, something like this …

or maybe YOUR shoes would prefer some different showcasing … keep scrolling and tell me which shoe storage idea you like best.

Do you have a shoe collection that should be on show? How do you store your shoes? Do you like the idea of a Mud Room? Or a Lady Room for all your shoes and your nice things?

PS. Don’t forget about our exciting giveaway: WIN a KitchenAid mixer. All the details are here.

@writeawaywithme It’s a simple idea but effective for storage and a fun entry statement!

@NikkiParkinson I have the perfect bedroom wall for it too!

  • ChicIllumi

I’m loving the idea of a whole wardrobe just for my shoes!!

    • http://www.stylingyou.com.au NikkiParkinson

@ChicIllumi Kind of like men and their sheds, I think we deserve a space for our stuff. My friend woogsworld calls it her Lady Room. I will have one of those once one of my children leaves home ;)

That’s it Nikki ! I’m off to IKEA to build a white bookcase for my shoes…and books!

    Love it!

@shehascuteshoes Can you build me one too … and a room for the bookcase!?

  • FranklyFeisty

I love the idea of the crates and the Ikea cupboard above it, is great too. Mine are just stacked on top of each other, in side by side piles, in their original boxes on the floor of my walk in. I am mostly barefoot whenever I am at home, so don’t play with my shoes that often. I also have bad calcification of my big toe joints that I’ve already had removed once and it came back! So I don’t get to wear a lot of my shoes, because they hurt too much, but I can’t bear to throw them away : (

@FranklyFeisty I wouldn’t be able to throw the away either!

How many shoes does a person need??  Some of those images are good examples of extremely shallow materialism…. yuk

  • amiriche

The bookshelf idea is a good one. This weekend I managed to donate half of my unread books to the op-shop to make space for my shoes too!

  • Sam

Yet here you are looking at them Nelly, what does that say about you? I loved them, as for how many shoes a person needs, well thats up to them!
