Food: Ten Things To Cook Your Vegan Friend (For Dinner!)

Do you know what? Some people are diet-ist. Yep. They really are.

I am not referring to the kind of diet that will slim your thighs and whittle your hips. Nope. I am referring to the kind of diet which causes other kinds of important eating considerations. Intolerances. Allergies. And ethical choices such as vegetarianism or veganism.

Some people get a bit huffy at those who may have restrictions or considerations in the food department. True. But don’t look at me, because I am not one of those huffy types. Nope.

Of course there are many like me, who love the idea of being hospitable to everyone, no matter what they like or need to eat.  We just like to cook and entertain.  Truth be told, I think the less keen huffy people really do not like to deny themselves anything.  I think they might perceive others’ restrictions as painful or tricky or precious or unnecessary.  Hmph.  Of course they are really none of these things and are all about personal choice an/or health, both of which are VERY IMPORTANT.

I thought that I’d write a little dinner guide for the huffy or confused.  If you have a vegan in your life, bookmark this post. It’s not only full of delicious dinners for vegans and non-vegans alike, it will also spark some inspired ideas in the vegan cookery department, because there are TONS of things that are vegan friendly and extra yum too.

Are you a vegan? Or do you have vegan pals? Do you have some favourite recipes you might like to share?  Clue us in!

I’m a vegetarian and it is nice to see good vegan recipes, because sometimes vegetarian recipes rely on cheese and creamy stuff a bit too much! Thanks for affirming that personal choice is important… and should be respected and celebrated!

Personal choices are not pesky! They ARE choices that are to be respected and celebrated! YOU ARE SO RIGHT, Cass! xxx

Yummy! The lentil meatball recipe isn’t vegan, but you could adapt.

My partner and I are vegan and this post makes me happy. My friends are really really nice about making food for us when we come to dinner but we still feel a bit bad that they have to make us something special. Usually I offer to bring a dish, just to make it easier. Or else we just invite people to our place. But when someone goes to an effort to make something that we can eat and enjoy we are so very grateful. So thanks Pip. You’d be a good friend to have.

Wowee, they all look so delicious. Thanks so much for posting them Pip. Now which one do I cook for dinner?
