Food: Eleven Delicious Lentil Recipes
You know, let’s not forget lentils. I mean, before the much lauded quinoa came on the scene, lentils were everybody’s favourite healthy staple. Lentils are an old friend, bubbling themselves into comforting deliciousness and pairing themselves nicely with everything from vegetables to sausage. They are wriggling their way into curries, soups, salads and stews. How diverse.
Lentils are really good for you too. They contain more protein, more fibre and less fat than quinoa. So not only do they eat well, they beat quinoa in terms of nutritional value too. Win.
So, as much as we love quinoa, I think if you’re not avoiding legumes (hello Paleo!) then lentils are actually a better (cheaper!) option.
