The Carrie Diaries : Revisiting Carrie Bradshaw

It’s just been announced that AnnaSophia Robb (star of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Bridge To Terabithia) will star as the teenage Carrie Bradshaw in the upcoming TV Series The Carrie Diaries. According to The Daily Mail, the series is expected to show the evolution of our Carrie’s friendships with Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda although it’s not known who will be cast in those roles.

Producers from Gossip Girl and SATC will combine their super-powers to produce a prequel with sass and style. We hope. I am so very excited to see what a teenage Carrie might wear, given that she had some of the hot diggiest outfits we have ever seen on our screens (thank you Patricia Field!)

Hot diggiest is too a superlative.

The talk is that the series will explore high school and the streets of Manhattan with the young Ms Bradshaw. And that there will be lots of boys. And some more boys. And a bit of dating boys, even.

    I am just too excited for this series. I have read both of the books in The Carrie Diaries series and they are alot of fun. I tried to guess who they would pick to play Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte on my blog - http://wp.me/p2ajts-3i
    However, they have a while to decide as Samantha doesn’t make her entrance until the end of the last book, with Miranda and Charlotte arriving in the second book.
