It’s that super delicious time betwixt Christmas and New Years. I love this time of year. If you are lucky enough to be off work, or at least on a worky go-slow, you get to schmooze a bit. The hours are longer, the expectations are lesser and it’s a given that you spend some nice times with your family and eat nice things.

If you’re clicking about on the internet or reading the papers, it’s also the time you get bombarded with LISTS of Best-Ofs. The Best Music of 2011. The Best Books of 2011.  The Best Movies of 2011. You get the picture, right?

I thought we’d make our own sort of JustB Best Of List, today. We’re eschewing all those mainstream lists and fashioning our own, with help from YOU!

We’re going to make The Best of Happy 2011.  And we need YOU to help with that.  What made you happy in 2011.  I know that a lot of people had a tough year, so perhaps it was a little thing that got you beaming?  Or maybe you had a big win of some kind, personal or professional?  Perhaps you witnesssed someone else’s happiness and it kinda rubbed off? Or maybe you got some great news that makes you feel super positive about the future? Did you met a great new person, welcome a new baby, snuggle a new pet?

What’s your Best Of Happy moment for 2011?  We’d LOVE it if you shared? Then we can all go in to the new year with fresh ideas and fresh hopes, thanks to you!

xx Pip

Don’t forget we’re chatting daily over at JustB’s Facebook page, about ALL KINDS of things. We’d LOVE you to chatter too!

I have been very excited and thrilled that one of my patterns has been accepted by Inside Crochet magazine – to say I have been “fit to burst” with happiness pretty much sums it up. It is good to dream, sometimes good stuff can happen.

Oh that is GREAT news! Congratulations to YOU Kirsten! It is really important to aim high and know that you are capable of WAY more than you think, I think! x

Yes, that has been my challenge, to realise that “I can”. Love the focus on the happy, so easy to focus on the sad! xxoo

I had a baby! A beautiful little girl who makes me so, so happy. I’ve never felt better than when she was placed on my chest. It’s tough and exhausting but what could be better than her big happy smiles and legs kicking with excitement. Best year ever.

That is such a gift. I love babies. I want to snuggle one right now. Congratulations on your little poppet, Elly! xx

  • Amie

Many wonderful things happened this year, the stand outs for me were… getting engaged in a little coastal village in Italy and finally opening an Etsy store.

Oh those are WONDERFUL wins, Amie! HUGE congratulations to you and your partner! Yay!

Hi Pip, Love your bright and cheery emails. What made me happy in 2011, was that AFTER I had a stroke in May, I am now back to normal, and living and loving and cherishing every day. We don’t realise what we have until we lose it or almost lose it. I am only 61 (62 tomorrow!) and fear most being struck down with a disabitlity that will make me dependent on others. Now I live life to the full – can’t wait to get back on my little Honda motor scooter and tootle around again. Life is GOOD!!!!

Oh WOW. That is really amazing, Carole. I can’t imagine how you must have felt after your stroke. And I am really freaking inspired by your recovery and positivity. You are ace. You are an example to us all. Happy Birthday for tomorrow, lovely lady! BIG smooches from me! xx

The most happy thing for me in 2011 was my best friend falling pregnant with her first bub after a long rocky start in trying to conceive this made me so very happy! I am due also with my second very soon so we will be able to share the good (and challenging!!) moments as mothers together which is lovely- so funny how life can take such twists and turns I cherish the happy moments!

Oh wow. Babies and weddings, to me, are chock full of happy and hope for the future. I’m so pleased that you and your BF are having BABIES together, especially when it seemed that it might nog happen! Congratulations to you both. And how lovely are YOU for making someone else’s big moment, your HAPPY of 2011?! Super lovely. x

  • Name

Happy times for me have been having friends over to my house, pottering in the kitchen, laughing with my neighbour and the arrival of a very special friend’s first child on Christmas Eve.
I’m always happy when I get to hang out with my precious 3 year old niece – her imagination is on fire and it’s lovely.
Simplicity makes me happy, reading a book, re-watching a favourite movie, looking out the window.
And you make me happy too Pip.
    Thanks!
    Annette x

Oh look at YOU, Annette! You’ve got such a great handle on the HAPPINESS thing! People like YOU remind us there are so many ways to feel chirpier, both big and small! HAPPY day to you, Miss! xxx

  • Me And Boo

What made me extra happy this year was going on a road trip with my Husband around Victoria – finding treasures in lots of lovely vintage shops and seeing ancient trees in old forests.

This is both super adorable and super romantic. I love it that you have a shared passion! I love the idea of you both driving all over the countryside, chewing minties and singing along to the stereo! CUTE CUTE CUTE. And super happy too. Thank YOU for your Happy Moment!! xx
