I love a picnic. Remember when we had this Wintery picnic a few weeks ago? It was so COLD that day, but hot tea and the misty day made everything taste better, picnic-wise. Of course, the weather is slowly warming up now. You don’t have to have a misty picnic if you don’t want to. You might even be lucky enough to have a sunny day kind of picnic. You might actually get to wriggle your bare toes without getting chilblains! Fingers and toes crossed for that.
Sometimes it seems like a very big deal to pack a picnic. Sometimes the idea seems almost insurmountable. You think about it and it seems to be the Everest of dining experiences. I am here to tell you that is not always the story. Sometimes you can buy a bunch of yum stuff and some drinks and you are all done. You don’t have to labour over it. And sometimes easy it can be a whole lot more fun.
Raid your deli or bakery. Tuck some cool drinks under the seat of the car. Grab a blanket and GO!
Here are eleven picnic inspirations for you. Note the abundance of fresh fruit, baguettes, cheese and delicious looking pies. Lots of these picnics are of the last-minute deli-raid variety. Last minute deli-raid does not have to mean a half-hearted picnic.
Don’t you want to go on a picnic? What’s your favourite quick picnic snack? Do you super-love the cheat sheet I made you?!
