I get more than a little excited by this time of year. The longer, warmer days only means one thing for me – the start of ‘outdoor eating season’! And there’s nothing I love more than a balmy spring/summer night coupled with great food.

Now don’t get me wrong, I do love winter warmer cosiness, too – slow-cooked casseroles that make my place smell like a country homestead – are the best. But in ‘outdoor eating season’, our TV gets turned off in favour of long conversations over crunchy salad and chilled wine out on the balcony. Saturdays become all about picnics and fish ‘n’ chips by the sea, and Sunday arvos = friends, BBQ and laughter. It’s bliss.
