Food: Ten Favourite Chocolate Bars To Copy-Cat At Home

I’m a sweet tooth from way back!  I think it comes from the forced restraint as a child.  In my family there was a crazy “no sweets” rule.  My mum fancied herself as a bit of a herbal and we ate Bornhoffen bread and dried apricots.  The only sweet treats in our house were ginger nut biscuits.  That is, until Wednesday rolled around.  On a Wednesday my Grandma would come over and dish out chocolate freckles into Tupperware containers.  I’m pretty sure those little chocolate treats were hoovered in less than a minute.

Later lolly day involved the purchase of our favourite chocolate bar at the local milko.  I ALWAYS had a Mars Bar…can’t go near them now.  A store-bought bar is all very well and good but would you guys take a look at these ace “make at home” chocolate treats?  I mean EVERY day could be lolly day!  How wonderful!

I was never a fan of the Wagon Wheel (I think it had something to do with the ad), but I’m thinking that the homemade Wagon Wheel looks absolutely sensational and I’m super keen to have a go at making my own.

I’d like to know if your household has a rule for the “sometimes” foods?  Did you like the Wagon Wheel ad or maybe you loved the Cherry Ripe ad?  Do tell!

I love the Violet Crumble ad – ‘it’s the way it shatters that matters!’ And the accent it was said in made it a bit hardcore. That was pretty fun. Now, my favourite chocolate bar is a Snickers or a Picnic. I love that they seem to have everything – chocolate, caramel, nuts, and a Picnic has wafer too. I think I will need to pick up one of these on my way to the movies tonight.
