I’m into the lazy comfort of a gratin, are you? I’m loving the way you can transform a kilo or so of seasonal vegetables into a hot mess of deliciousness, with some breadcrumbs or some cheese or some cream or all of those things.

I’m guessing this is not the kind of dish you want to eat every day, but I think if you’re making a roast chicken this is a great thing to throw in the oven alongside it.  Or perhaps you are a vegetarian? We’ve got you covered too.  A gratin with a green salad (and maybe a nice glass of wine?) sounds like the perfect dinner option to me, vegetarian or otherwise.

Of course, the gratin was invented by the French, who are notoriously clever and balanced with their eating habits.  This makes the gratin a notoriously clever dinner choice, by default. Win!

You could make your gratin in a big dish, and invite everyone to dig in. OR you could make individual gratin’s, and serve everyone their own. Cute.  Let me take you through some of the best, so you can see where you want to get started.
