Five Day Trip Must-Takes! (Not Mistakes!)
I’m not one for doing TOO much preparation before we get in the car and head for the hills, but there are a few things I can not do without. These are the things that will make life MUCH easier and make your trip MUCH happier, too.
We’re talking day trip must-takes (avoiding day-trip mistakes!)
1. An Esky
Don’t be worried, you don’t have to fill the Esky up before you go, especially if you want to eat lunch out somewhere nice. An esky is super useful if you are going to do a bit of foodie shopping along the way. You can stow your cheese or terrine or chocolates safely inside and head home for a lounge room picnic, firm in the knowledge that your perishables are safe as houses.
2. A Blanket
Maybe it’s for the passenger to snuggle under during long stints, maybe it’s to sit on and snack off, or maybe it’s to use as a tablecloth on a wooden bench under a shady tree. All of those things sound great, right?!
3. Enough Money
Don’t laugh. How can you possibly relax if you don’t have back up in the coin department?! Budget backup means you can really relax and enjoy the drive, because you’ve got a Plan B, no matter what.
4. A Great Soundtrack
You’re making memories. You totally don’t want those memories to have a soundtrack of ‘The Races at Sand Down’ or ‘The Violet Town Charity Radiothon For Marginalised Numbats’. If you’re not sure what to put on your roadtrip playlist look here. Or here. Or download the app Discovr Music to find artists you might not know about.
5. Rad People
Maybe it’s your best friend? Maybe it’s your boyfriend? Maybe it’s your Mum?! There’s nothing like the open road and the day ahead to make for nice times and happy memories. Be sure to have a camera on hand to capture them forever!
What’s your day trip must-takes? And do you have any day trip MISTAKES?!
