Did you grow up watching The Cosby Show? I totally did and I watch it with my youngest child, even now. We love Cliff Huxtable. He’s so freaking funny and firm and fair.  (We SUPER love Rudi and Denise too, but more on that in another post.)  There were so many things that were great about The Cosby Show, apart from the fact that it depicted a professional African American family at a time when there was little of that on the telly, in Australia at least.

For instance, the swinging door that led to the kitchen. That is a great thing about The Cosby Show.  Something was always going on, on either side of that door.  Also  the living room.  It was always neat and contained someone sitting on the couch eating ice cream or cookies, while someone else slid down the bannister.  That is a good thing too. The dancing? The dancing was so good, wasn’t it? And the dinners! The Cosbys always ate such great all-American food. It seemed very exotic when you were eating a chiko roll and chips to see someone eating beans and rice.

And the CLOTHES. OMG. Lisa Bonet was always my fave and I totally wondered how she managed to wrap herself in a sheet, some gumboots and a brooch and STILL look amazing. No wonder Lenny Kravitz fell in love with her.  The real fash-dash star of the show, was Cliff Huxtable though, right? I did not realize at the time how great his wardrobe was. I was too busy looking at Denise. Let’s take a minute or two to share the wonder of the Cosby sweaters.  I give you The Bill Cosby Sweater Gallery. It’s my favourite kind of gallery and you are even allowed to touch the art. OMG.

Which one is your fave?

x Pip

I think the running man one makes the most sense!

My husband bagged me out for recently buying entire series.
Well guess what, he now watches and uses as parenting guide with our kids.
Am buying him his very own cosby jumper for his birthday so he can look the part!

I wonder where they got all these amazing sweaters from? Do you think any of them would have been Jenny Kee? My fave from this bunch is the fireworks one!

    Too Funny!
Actually now that I think about it, Don Burke from Burke’s Backyard loved his jumpers/sweaters too! (late 80′s & early 90′s).
