The Armchair Neat Freak : In The Bathroom

The bathroom is the most important room in the house, in my opinion. It’s where I get all my good ideas and it’s also the only room where I can hide out, because it’s got a lock on the door.  Sometimes I just go in there and lock the door and PRETEND I’m doing something girly and important. Really I am sitting on the floor drinking coffee and looking at blogs on my iPad.  Don’t tell.

I thought your bathroom might need a spruce up. Mine totally does. It’s kind of like a very damp cupboard in there.  I can do better. I know I can. Perhaps you can do better too? Have an armchair look at some lovely bathrooms and see if this whets your whistle.  If not, have a long soak with a glass of wine and revisit this page when you are squeaky clean, post soak!

    Garden bathroom all the way!
My favourite holiday house by the coast had an outdoor shower… you could stand in the morning air and watch wallabies and birds perving on you! I loved it!

Much like stephanie, I loved while travelling in OZ, the shower at ’happy organics chilli farm’  where I worked in Byron Bay. It was high in the hills, and had 180 degree views of the country and the ocean in the far distance. I’d shower while watching the roos at dusk feeding  just before me and spot the owner dave wandering around so i’d hide my modesty (the windows were mirrored on the outside but you just couldn’t get your head round it!) Best bathroom views ever x

I once visited a friend in Alice Springs and she lived in a caravan and had an outdoor bathroom rigged up. It was a concrete bad with shade cloth nailed to a frame all around it – it had no roof so in the morning you could watch the birds in the trees and sometimes a little gecko would come to the bathroom to sit in the coolness of the water on the concrete pad. It took a while to get used to, but it was very relaxing showering amoungst nature. And it was on a large property so no one could see anything!

Outdoor and plantie bathrooms for me. Seems we’re really wired to do our bathing outside, from what all the ladies say.  I love it too…blissful, and just a little bit thrilling! In lieu of that outdoor experience, plants and windows out to gardeney lushness are lovely.

And I adore the sprightly prettiness of the espacio vital bathroom. A more realsitic template for the mo.
