Do you ever shop on Etsy? Do you know what Etsy is? Well, if you think of eBay and then imagine it’s loaded up with cute, quirky, vintage or handmade things, then you are halfway there. Etsy is chock FULL of gazillions of sellers who make things or sell things you may not find anywhere else. If you are in the market for something made by hand, something beautifully nostalgic or even supplies to do a bit of crafty DIY with, Etsy is your homegirl (or boy).
I buy lots of bits and pieces on Etsy, because I am obsessed with uniqueness. I bought this sweatshirt. I bought this t-shirt. I bought these shoes. If I’m looking for vintage pieces, Etsy is my first stop too. It’s easier to find things on Etsy (as opposed to eBay). Things are more nicely photographed. Things are more reasonably priced, and I just like the way Etsy works. Give me an E (and a T, S, Y!)
After years of loving Etsy, I was lucky enough to be FEATURED on their site recently. But that is not why I’m sending you there. Nope. I am sending you there because Etsy gives thousands of people all over the world an easy to use, super awesome marketplace in which to sell their wares or buy from independent traders. Etsy allows people who might not have creative day jobs to make some money (and some sense of things!) on the side doing artsy stuff. Etsy means that lots of stay at home parents who might not be able to go out to work can create mini-businesses and have their own income. Etsy allows artisans and crafters from all over the world to list their work and sell it globally. And Etsy provides all kinds of tools to help their community connect, learn and grow. Awesome indeed.
Etsy allows us to buy independent or local with the very greatest of ease. That’s really important to me. Is it important to you? We are shopping locally today. Here are ten super fab Australian Etsy sellers. I hope you enjoy this little shopping tour de Pip!
