Summer down the coast just isn’t complete without a trip to Kyo. That place is seriously amazing! It’s absolutely huge and jam packed full of furniture, fabrics and curios imported from all around the world. True, there’s a lean toward items from Japan, China and India but there is also a growing collection of Danish mid century furniture on offer. Kyo is absolutely visual overload but I always come away full of good ideas.

I guess tippity top on the list for folk who like to make stuff would be the collection of fabric and obi that are available for sale. Available either in packs, by the metre or by the obi. Crazy good! My favourite item of the day was absolutely the quilted chair. I can’t think of a more perfect chair to curl up in and watch rubbish on the teev and stitch a bit…bliss.

I thought you guys might enjoy a look at just some of the details that took my fancy on my recent visit. I tried to keep to things with a bit of a crafty bent but there really is something for everyone at Kyo. You should absolutely mark it on your road trip map for next time your down Ocean Grove way. You’ll need to make sure that you set aside some time though. Kyo isn’t just a dash-in-dash-out type of experience. I think allow at least an hour to really make the most of the experience.

I didn’t manage The Mill on this day but you should allow time to stop in there too.

Have you been to Kyo? Do you have an out of town tip for us?

I had never heard of Kyo, so thanks so much for the share – it looks amazing! We are heading to Geelong in a week or two so will have to convince the hubby to let us stop :-)
