Life: Five Things I Wish I’d Known At Fifteen by Dawn Tan
Here’s five ( or rather SIX, cause I can’t decide! ) Things I Wish I’d Known At Fifteen
That an awesome life partner would come to me when I’m 21! Seriously, I should have just stopped wondering! Haha. Oh how teenager-ish I was!
I wished I knew I was going to end up becoming a full-time artist, here in Australia as well! It’s been one big life-changing adventure. Seriously!
That my best guy friend would be really sick and leave us. Just so I could have made the effort to spend more time joking around with him, doing super silly, fun and exciting stuff. We all still miss him lots, all the time. He was one great friend!
At fifteen, my cooking skills were horrid! Thank goodness it’s heaps better now. Wish I knew how to cook in my teens though. That would have saved me from burning all my pasta, catching my veggies on fire when I was 20, setting off countless fire alarms. Oops!
This is totally random, but I wish I knew how to fly. That would be oh-so-cool. Ever since watching Peter Pan as a kid, it’s always been my ultimate life-aim to learn how to fly. Sadly, humans can’t fly. Oh well!
I wish I knew 2 years after, that I’d discover my passion for teaching! Who knew! As a teen, I always thought teaching was one of the daggiest occupations. Think old grumpy ladies with no sense of humour. But well, the tables have turned and I now find myself loving every minute of teaching, chasing little kiddos. It’s such an exciting lifestyle! To be able to make art and teach. I love it!
