Do you have a green thumb? I have a green brain. It’s a bit like a green thumb, in that it’s into planting things and generally leafing up the place. And yet it’s NOT like a green thumb at all, because it doesn’t seem to translate into keeping plants alive for an extended period of time.  I really do try, but something does get lost between the green strategy and the green action.

Luckily for me, I live with someone who can beautifully convert lofty green ideas into reality, so all is not lost. (Without him I would be living amongst crackly brown foliage and little piles of dirt!)

I’m always flinging planting ideas his way. ‘Let’s plant a cactus in a teapot, darling!’  ’Can you pot these petunias into this pencil case?’ ‘Would you mind plunging these bulbs into that old chip packet?’  It’s beyond the joke.

Today I’m giving my green thumbed fella a break. I’m flinging some planting ideas YOUR way instead.  Here’s eleven cute ways to plant things (with not a chip packet in sight!)

Are you the green thumbed kind? Is your foliage crackly?

Hehe, I have a green brain too! Alas no green thumbs live here though. I love the colander planter and the Dino planters. Very cool!

Love the owls! Try growing plants in water; like marimo, lucky bamboo and spider plants. I have just discovered they are super easy to keep live: http://www.ellomennopee.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/little-shop-of-horrors.html
