Did you spend part of your teenage years staring lovingly at your poster festooned bedroom wall? I know I did, and was especially excited when a new magazine came out, because I could pull the posters from within and blutack the bejeezus out of them. Every single space was covered with Durans and Spandaus and Adams and Mads. It was very important that my wall reflected who I was, for some reason. I was very sure that this month’s Howard Jones would totally reveal the true me to anyone who popped their head round the door.

Luckily, posters have come a very, VERY long way since the pensive spiky do-ed headshots of the 80s. Posters are their own artform now, designed, illustrated and printed within an inch of their super gorgeous lives, and absolutely begging to be framed and hung on our (more mature) walls to beautifully express the grown up us.

Here are a tiny twenty two of my favourite posters for happier homes. It was very hard to choose, and my bet is that if you head here, you’ll find not only these, but others that will become your faves. Put away the blutack and step up to some MUCH nicer ways to show off your love for music.
