Have you ever made paper flowers? I do remember doing this as a kid, trying to wrap green tape around florist wire.  Trying to make crepe paper do what I wanted it to do. I remember it was quite tricky, but I also remember finding lots of craft projects quite tricky back then.

I think it was mostly that the kids’ craft books I had on my bookshelf had the kind of instructions that looked pretty, but were not very easy to follow.  I very clearly remember looking at the final ‘finished’ sample in books like this, thinking. “Yes. I can do that. I’ll dive right in!”  Within the hour I was usually head in hands, surrounded by glue and yarn and little bits of paper or paddlepop sticks, wondering where I went wrong.

Luckily I have acquired many more skills and way better craft books since then.  Of course we have the internet now, too, which means that you can always find a simple to follow how-to (and indeed lots of links to guide you through the skills required.) Phew.  No more crossly making paper flowers for me. I’m totally going to be ALL SMILES.

How about you? Did you have some difficult crafting experiences as a kid?  Do you want to make some cute paper flowers too?

Where are you going to start with these adorable projects? Do you have a fave?

xx Pip
