Do you have a favourite book? I’m really NUTS for Jane Eyre. I borrowed an old copy from my local library and I took it back SO reluctantly, I sprung tears. I’m now wont to collect any copy of Jane Eyre that I come across. I have 7 copies. I don’t know why. I just love the story so much, and every edition I find makes me weak at the knees, as though it’s a slightly different view of the same thing.

Apart from Jane, I love Dodie Smith’s ‘I Capture The Castle’. I read it recently with my book club and it totally snuck up on me. I thought I didn’t like it… and then I LOVED it. The characters are so sweet and eccentric and honest and the setting so lovely. You totally have to read it, if you haven’t already. Did you know that Dodie Smith also wrote The 101 Dalmations? It’s true.

When I was younger, I adored Wuthering Heights. It was partly because of Kate Bush and partly because I wanted to be romantic and classic and windswept on the moors. We lived in the desert, in Western Australian. We had red dirt and tumbleweeds. Moors seemed totally exotic.

Some people immerse themselves in literature SO DEEPLY, that they actually make stuff from and for classic books. I’m into people like that. Here’s eleven of them doing their clever thing:

    Hi Pip

I’m a sucker for Pride and Prejudice…but any of Auntie Janes are good with me! Love, love, love Jane Eyre too…but the one I book I have read more times than I care to count is Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca. Not sure if that is strictly a classic but the first I read it was for my English O Level, back in the day!
The literary gifts are just lovely! Would love to give them all a home! :)
