Brr. Are you feeling it? Are frosty draughts whipping about your toes? Are chilly winds lapping at your hem? Are you bracing yourself against Wintery days? Jeepers it’s getting quite FRESH in Melbourne, especially in the evenings. It’s not enough to tug on a shrug, throw on a shawl or cuddle up in a cardigan. Nope. We need that extra layer of throat hugging warmth to keep things on an even keel. We need cosy necks, because cosy necks equal happy hearts. Don’t you think?

I am super sure that you can head to your nearest (independent) retailer and pick up a suitable scarf. For sure you can do that. But there’s another way to stay warm in the neck department, and that’s by making your own cute scarf. Yep.

This weekend is the perfect time to make a no-sew, knitted, crocheted or stitched scarf all of your very own.  If you are new to knitting or crochet (the yarn arts!) this is the PERFECT project for a beginner, it’s the perfect place to start.

Click your way through our gallery of awesome scarves and see which ones make your neck feel naked. That, my friend, is a sure sign that you and said scarf were meant to be together.

Can you knit? Can you sew? Do you crochet? Is your neck warm? Do tell!

Fabulous ideas. I can crochet and would love to knit myself a yummy scarf for the cold Melbourne mornings we are having. Love the braided scarf.

Oh, that’s a great selection of scarves! I love scarves and wraps -I’ve always got one nearby when it’s cold to keep my neck warm. I sew, crochet and knit but crochet is my absolute fav. Now to decide which project to do next!

I like that one too. It’s totally not scratchy and super cosy, I think! x

My favourite part about chilly weather is being able to wear my scarves. I love the light weight pashmina ones that aren’t too bulky, can double as blankets and don’t irritate my nose. I’m about a quarter of the way through knitting a neutral coloured inifnity/circle scarf.
