How do we feel about rings on the table. I’m talking those pesky, stained sort of rings. You know, the spilly kind?

I don’t really care about rings, truth be told, but I have a lovely friend who has gorgeous manners and a beautiful home, and she MIGHT care about rings.

Every time I go to her home, out come the GORGEOUS coasters and lovely placemats and adorable table runners and super-cute hot pads. Oh my. My friend is a table stylist, really. Having tea with her is like having tea with the the interiors version of Rachel Zoe (except my friend is MUCH nicer than Rache, obvs!)  In the table department, my friend has options, options, OPTIONS!  She’s got beautiful, grainy, linen coasters. She’s got carefully crocheted pot holders. She’s got sweet, duck-egg blue patchwork coasters. She’s got the lot. Le sigh.

If you would like to be a table stylist, all gorgeousness in the tea-time department, a doyenne of laying it out, this is the post for you. I’m not promising the whole kit and caboodle. What I am promising is baby steps. Let’s start with coasters. Coasters are cute and easy to make. And coasters can totally lift your (possibly) sloshy, ringed table-top into a whole new league. Don’t you want to do that? Don’t you want to be like my lovely friend? Don’t you want to make coasters? Let’s go!

Which ones do you want to make?!

I’m visiting my future my mother in law in Italy. They have an apple orchard, so I’m going to give the apple coasters a whirl, perfect “Thank You” gift! Love that it doesn’t require a sewing machine. Thanks for posting this!

Love the cork map coasters. They would be a great gift for travelling friends and family! For home, I’d love to have a go at the scrap paper tiles. There are some gorgeous ideas here, but they’re my favourite!!
